All Curled Up
Today we had one of those "We better check this out" moments after we had put Colleen down for a nap (her's, not our's). She was making her usual stirring noise, and suddenly it was quiet. This was followed by "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" from the bear that hung about 3 feet away from where she was placed in the bed.
So we both slipped back into the room and found her curled up in the corner dismantling her crib. So cute. Of course, we filmed it before fixing it. Within 5 minutes after we placed her back in the middle she was asleep.

Mmmm...Taste like twins.
You must wonder what we feed her.

Now You See Her ....
Colleen is still learning to sit up and, as you saw in the earlier video, we are not afraid to post video of her falling down. Howeve, we have learned it's better that we let her learn while sitting on the bed. So everyone is learning something new each day.

Warning - More Babies

If pictures of one baby is cute – how about three? As we mentioned in the Maine post, we stopped to see a friend of Becky's who had twins last July. Unfortunately we were a week early for their birthday(s), but it was great to finally put real smiles on all those pictures we have seen. Overall it was a few hours of enhanced curiosity by each of the girls as they kept trying to figure why there were more small people than usual. It was a great time, but far too short. The fib of the day goes to Erica: “Oh Tim, the girls just happened to be wearing their Red Sox jumpers today.”

Small and Tall McGuinness
The littlest McGuinness met the biggest. Tom came in late Tuesday and grabbed a train into NYC so we could catch the red hot Mets. The Wed. morning there he was on the floor making his little niece crack the big toothless smile. She warmed up quickly to Tom and, once she started talking, it was all “oooo oooo me” and “ga goo I.”

Quarter Year Old
I decided it was just easier to post all the pictures by month rather than find special occasions. She hit the magic 3 months in early June and she now has the strength of 10 babies. I think she doubled in size right before my eyes last week. You can click thru and see one of her new strollers. We have already started pimping her ride by getting her 2 new strollers.

Jack's Birthday
We headed back to Endwell for Jack's birthday. We were only there for one night, but managed to get in alot of photo ops, including the cousins photo below, and go to a Binghamton Mets game, where Patrick got a baseball. The weekend also include 3 types of spiedies, so you imagine it had to be good.
In this picture we tried to get them all together, but Colleen was a little fussy, so Patrick gave he a little kiss to assure her that it was OK. Also, Colleen also had a chance to meet some other cousins at P.S. Restaurant where she was the most popular person in the place.

Spring Break in Florida
Becky and baby had a chance to spend two weeks in Florida with Grampie, Grammie, Aunt Bethe and Uncle Rich. Needles to say there was alot of baby spoiling going on, but how cold you not.
She grew up quite a bit while there coming back much stronger and chatty.

Why is this kid so happy?
This is her last starter diaper and she is moving up to the next size – appropriately called Size 1. As I stood in the local diaper aisle last week I realized that there is a long way to go, and a lot of diaper technology to learn.
The biggest thing to see in these pictures is that she is noticeably bigger in her face than she was just two weeks ago. Like a true McGuinness, she does not miss too many meals, even though we have to bring them all to her.
This next line is hard to type with my finders crossed when it’s this last at night and she’s sound asleep, but here it is: She has been sleeping longer at night. Let’s hope that continues.

Take care.

She Knows Where The Camera Is
More pictures. We can't stop. It's not lke we can say that she's talking, walking or eating. It's still just poop, cry and make us smile. But that's fine for us.
This weekend the goal has been to get out of the house a little more. So Becky took the baby for walks each day and today was a big trip to Target and the grocery store. At Target, I took my eyes off here for a second and she had a Tony Stewart die cast replica in the cart. Amazing. She must have head me talking about wanting one, Becky doesn't trust the story since the car weighs more than the baby. Like a Boppy doesn't.
The biggest thing this week is that she is more aware of us being around, and, as the video below shows, she knows where the camera is even as it moves around the room. And note that I found something other than kiss cam.
Many, many more pictures here: Flickr and Kodak. (Same pictures at each site.)

No More Pictures
She started to train us this week.
As you can see from some of the pictures here, we are getting a little more comfortable around our 8 pounds of joy.

The Baby
I have the baby monitor, the diaper genie, and spit up on my shirt (that's not mine this time) so it must be real -- I am a dad.
I won't get too buried in text because it's not necessary because you just have to lok at the pictures and watch the video below to see the smile on Becky's face to understand how happy we are. For those of you in a Fantasy Baby League, here are the official stats.
- date: March 6 at 1:42;
- size: 8 lbs 7 oz and 20 inches;
- description: beautiful.
The First Hour
The left us alone after they brought the baby back from make-up, I mean the nursery, and I took this video. So she is less than an hour old at this point. Also, I don't think the kiss cam feature in these videos will ever get old. This website has a user now forever.
The Baby Comes Home
After driving back at 20 mph in the slow lane, rying not to curse, we finally get home.
More Pictures
If you would like to see about 80 more, and who wouldn't, here are two places that you can look: Flickr photos or Kodak galleries, which is better for prints.

Master Crib Carpenter
It is February, so we figured we better get the little Stowaway a place to sleep since we really don't know when she might drop by. I was hoping to get a neighbor's kid in to test the crib in advance, but I guess I'll drop a barbell in there. Barbells must be good for something.
Earlier we kicked off the "Better Get it Done" weekend by getting the car seat installed. They have a monthly program at the local fire department and the people we very nice and helpful in explaining some extra safety tips we didn't realize. The biggest was that they told us not to install the backward mirror since the chair is designed to snap into the spot where you mount the mirror and the baby could smash -- SMASH she said -- her little face. That was enough to put that back in the Target until we can find a better use.
So much to learn.

Girls Weekend on the Cape
They came from Florida, Maine, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and found Debbie's house on the Cape. We got lost somewhere near Hartford, but we found the house by 11 pm, and I still had a chance to enjoy the #3 export of Maine (behind lobster and LL Bean), coffee brandy.
Great weekend, except for the endless stories about how great the Patriots are. Oh I hope it ends soon.
We ended up back on Sunday night with some great gifts, including a diaper genie which still has me baffled, but I can't wait to give it a run.

The Big News - Is Very Little
When I set this blog up I created some sections that have the links on the right. Call it poor planning, but the best section to describe this is "Just things." But it's a big thing, and now we're going public.
These are the feet of a mini Mia Hamm. Yes, we're having a girl. The original due date we were given is Feb 29. Ironically we were engaged on Feb 29, 2004, so we must have a special knack for celebrating leap years.
