Guy Weekend

Mets_NatsNoVA - Usually is called 'Guy's Weekend', but in this case it's just me. Becky went to visit her family in Pensacola, so I'm all alone.

So how's it been:
Day 1 - Mets at Nationals - Found great seats on the street for $15. Only thing bad is my terrific Nationals record (9-1) worked against the Mets.
Day 2 - Now this was a Saturday, so there was a threat that I'd get stuck to the couch, but no. Ready, I:
-- Went for a run
-- Cut the lawn
-- Fixed the shower door
-- Washed two (TWO) cars
-- Made a pizza
Day 3 -- Got stuck to the couch. I was sore from yesterday, so I'm updating this blog.

My hope is that no one stops by to say hi, and since that only happens during Girl Scout Cookie sales season, then I should be safe, because the house is a mess. I'll keep you updated if that changes.

Land of the Dino's

DinoNY - As mentioned in a prior post, for my birthday Becky bought tickets for me to see the Mets play at Shea on Aug. 5. Part of the package was that we were going to visit the Dino family, where Becky we could see the old Dino's and the newest Dino.

We had a great weekend that centered around the house, but it included pizza, chicken parm, and ice cream cake, so that's a good house to center on.

MetsEric and I got to see the Mets beat the Phillies. It was my first trip to Shea in 3 years and it was great to see the endangered park again. A large tract of the parking lot is already blocked off as it fills with construction materials to start building the new stadium that is scheduled to open in 2009.

Newport Weekend

NewportNewport - We just returned from a great weekend in Newport where we were able to catch up with old friends, eat at some of our favorite places (too busy eating to take a picture), and play old fashioned tourist.

I spent the first two days with the girls, but had to bail out on day 3 so i could get some guy time. My day came down to a long drive around the island to get a couple of Icee's (the new name all the kids will be using for the Dunkin Donut Iced Coffee), and then going back to sit in front of the air conditioner. I was just too tired and hot to keep walking around town.

We stayed at the very nice Mariner House B&B, which allowed us to stay near downtown so we were easily able to walk the city -- until it just got too sticky.

Maybe more later.
