Livin' On A Prayer

Philly tripPhiladelphia - "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" is how Bon Jovi started the show on this HOT Saturday night at Citizen's Bank Field, the home of the Phillies. We sat in leftfield, about 30 feet from the stage extension that looped into the audience. By being able to move into the audience, Jon Bon Jovi made himself more accessible to women throwing their under garments. The biggest casualty of the evening were the thousands of innocent t-shirts that lost their sleeves in the name of '80s style.

About the show: It rocked. Since Philly is Jon Bon Jovi's adopted city -- he owns the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena League, and has reportedly done alot of charity work in the city -- he was like a second homecoming. The South Jersey faithful showed their love for the band 2 1/2 hour show that covered all the hits and much more.

We didn't bring a camera to the show because we were 100% expecting rain. The weather was 90 degrees and 90% humidity -- the open stadium was the hottest club I was ever at. We were actually wishing it would rain about half way through.

I did include some pictures we took on Sunday, including our lunch at The City Tavern, which dates back to the days of Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin. Even then it was still so hot and muggy that we decided it would be more comfortable sitting in a traffic jam with air conditioning, rather than walking the streets. I have no idea how Ben Franklin did it.
