Baby Panda and Washington Monument

PandaWe were lucky to snag tickets to see Tai Shan, the new baby panda at the National Zoo. The pictures show that he slept for our full 10 minute viewing time. However, it was still interesting just to see how small he is compared to his mother and father which were outside in the viewing area. Mom was enjoying a frozen snack while dad looked a little glum since he was isolated by himself.

Since we knew we would be in the city, we also made reservsations for tickets to go to the top of the Washington Monument. We went last in the day so the sun was seeting making it a nice time to take pictures, though it got chilly real fast once the sun went down. Click below to see more:

Shenandoah River State Park

You can't beat a scenic mountain road during foliage season, so Rebecca and I took a ride up the big hill for the scenic views. We also saw our first evidence of snow or the season because they had around 4 inches fall early in the week. Click below for the pictures:
